Italy striker reveals what makes Osimhen special

The Super Eagles star has been in fantastic form in recent games, and an Italy international has revealed why the youngster is special

Sampdoria and Italy striker Ciccio Caputo has praised the abilities of Nigerian international Victor Osimhen, saying he’s mentally strong.

Osimhen has found his groove after a disappointing start to the season, which saw him pick up a red card in Napoli’s opening Serie A game of the season.

The former Lille man has put the disappointment behind him and has scored five goals in his last three games for the Neapolitans.

Osimhen opened his account for the season with a brace that helped Napoli come back from two goals down in their Europa League clash against Leicester City.

He backed it up with another goal against Udinese on Monday night. And on Thursday evening, he scored a brace to help Napoli to a 4-0 win over Sampdoria.

His performance has impressed Caputo, who revealed before yesterday’s clash why the Nigerian international is a different breed.

“Osimhen is physically and mentally strong, he knows how to attack space,” Caputo told CalcioNapoli 24 via

“You can’t leave him alone, because he will punish you,” he added.

Osimhen will hope to wreak the same havoc on Napoli’s next opponents, Cagliari, who visit the Diego Armando Maradona on Sunday.
