It’s Chukwueze vs Pogba, Sanusi vs Salah as Champions League groups are revealed

The group stage draws for the 2021/2022 UEFA Champions League campaign took place in Istanbul on Thursday, and it set up some interesting matches

Super Eagles stars Samuel Chukwueze and Zaidu Sanusi will face some of the game’s biggest stars after their teams were handed a tough draw in the group stages of the Champions League.

Chukwueze’s Villarreal, the current Europa League champions, were drawn against the team they beat in the final, Manchester United, Italian Serie A side, Atalanta and Swiss Champions, Young Boys.

Meanwhile, Zaidu Sanusi, who was brilliant for Porto in the competition last season, will come up against Liverpool, Atletico Madrid and AC Milan in a group of death.

Another Nigerian in the competition this season is Innocent Bonke of Malmo, but the Swedish side will find it difficult to progress to the next round after they were paired against defending champions Chelsea, Italian giants Juventus and Russian champions Zenith St. Petersburg.

In other groups, Paris Saint Germain (PSG) will face Manchester City, RB Leipzig, and Club Brugge in Group A. Inter Milan were paired against Real Madrid, Shaktar Donetsk and Sheriff Tiraspol.

Bayern Munich and Barcelona will renew their rivalry in Group E while Lille will take on Sevilla, Salzburg and Wolfsburg in Group G.
