Two Turkish clubs ready to pay ₦2.1b for Nigerian Star

Turkish giants, Fenerbahce and Besiktas, are in a battle to secure the signature of Nigerian forward Henry Onyekuru.

The two Istanbul clubs have been impressed by the talent of the former Everton man. Onyekuru and his agent William D’Avilla, are currently in Istanbul to meet with representatives from the two clubs to choose the best offer.

The Nigerian international spent the last six months on loan at Galatasaray for the third time after he struggled to pin down a starting shirt at AS Monaco.

The loan deal expired at the end of June, and he is currently shopping for a new side, and it looks likely that he would remain in Turkey.

Onyekuru and his present club, AS Monaco, are only interested in a permanent deal. And according to ajansspor, both Fenerbahce and Besiktas are ready to pay about 2.1 billion Naira for the Aspire academy product.

The Super Eagles star and his agent have been in Istanbul for over a month in a bid to secure a move to Galatasaray, but they weren’t forthcoming.

But he stated that Fenerbahce and Besiktas had contacted them within that period, and they have placed deals on the table.
