Liverpool FC took to their website on Monday evening to post pictures of the first day of preseason. The Reds are camped in Salzburg, Austria, as they start preparations for the new season.
The players took turns to perform their training drills in groups, and with this group was former Nigeria Under-17 striker Taiwo Awoniyi.
The 23-year-old has the chance to play his way into the heart of Jurgen Klopp, who is considering selling the Nigerian permanently.
Awoniyi recently secured his work permit, which had denied him the opportunity to play in England for the last five years.
The Imperial Soccer Academy product was part of the group that took part in lactate testing, which measures endurance levels with a series of runs at increasing speeds.
Awoniyi would have adequate time to impress his manager as the likes of Firminio and Jota are still away resting due to their participation at the Copa America and the Euros.
The former Under-17 winner is yet to play for Liverpool since he signed in 2015 and has been on loan at different clubs in the German, Dutch and Belgian leagues.
He spent last season at Union Berlin, which earned him a work permit to play in England as the German Bundesliga is one of Europe’s top five leagues.
