Napoli’s new boss Luciano Spalletti was finally unveiled a couple of days ago, and one of the first decisions he has to make would likely be sanctioning the temporary transfer of one of the club’s finest prospects
Benevento has held talks with Napoli towards the acquisition of talented Italian-Nigerian midfielder Michael Folorunsho, reports the LabTV.
Folorunsho showed his qualities in the Italian Serie B last season as the 23-year-old scored six goals in 30 league games for Reggina while on loan from Napoli.
The midfielder, who joined Il Partenopei in 2019, managed only 13 appearances for Bari without scoring in the previous campaign.
Folorunsho is back in Naples, where he hopes new manager Luciano Spalletti would consider him ready for first-team football.
But Benevento, who were relegated from the Serie A last term after finishing 18th of 20 teams, are convinced that the Lazio academy product possesses the quality to help push their return to the elite division.
The Sorcerers have reportedly contacted the players’ representative, with negotiations expected to kick off soon with Napoli.
