The on-loan Chelsea ace delivered a match-winning performance to guide his side to a much-needed win
Victor Moses provided the two assists that helped Spartak Moscow secure a nail-biting 2-1 Russian Premier League win away to Arsenal Tula on Monday evening.
Moses was the architect of the visitors’ first goal when he did well to locate Aleksandr Sobolev, who then applied the decisive finish midway through the opening period.
However, an embarrassing Ilya Kutepov own goal on the stroke of halftime brought the home side back on levelled terms heading into the break.
But Moses ensured Spartak made away with all the three points at stake when his perfect pass opened space for Carl Henrik Jordan Larsson to smash home the winner in the 76th minute.
The win over Arsenal Tula sends Spartak Moscow past city rivals Lokomotiv Moscow into second on the league table, the last UEFA Champions League qualifying spot.
Only one point separates Spartak and Lokomotiv in the race for Europe’s premier club competition, with two matches left to play.
Chelsea-owned Moses, who has already contributed three goals and two assists in the league, will hope to help his team’s cause before his loan deal runs to an end.
Zenit St Petersburg have already been crowned Russian champions at the weekend, having amassed an unassailable 61 points from 28 matches.
