Reports: Real Madrid, Manchester United to battle for Wilfred Ndidi’s signature this summer

The Nigerian midfield enforcer has sealed his reputation as one of the world’s finest in his position, and it appears the time is right for him to move to one of the biggest clubs in the world

Two of the world’s biggest clubs, Real Madrid and Manchester United, are keen on signing 24-year-old Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi from Leicester City.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Ndidi could be on his way out of Leicester City with the Foxes set to lose him to one of the Spanish and English giants.

Aside from Real Madrid and Manchester United’s reported interest in the 24-year-old, French side Paris Saint-Germaine are also believed to be monitoring the Super Eagles midfielder to sign him.

Ndidi joined Leicester City from Belgian side Genk in January 2017 and has since established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.

Brought in as a replacement for Frenchman N’Golo Kante, Ndidi has made his name with his ball-winning attributes, positional play, tireless pressing, and defensive nous.

The Nigerian international has made 171 appearances for Leicester, chipping in with nine goals and ten assists to cement his place as one of Brendan Rodgers’s most trusted stalwarts.

Ndidi’s international and club teammate Kelechi Iheanacho has dominated the Leicester City headlines in recent weeks for his match-winning performances.

Still, Ndidi continues to deliver the goods in the middle of the park for the Champions League-chasing Foxes.

It is no surprise that his development has piqued the interest of several big clubs across Europe, including Real Madrid and Manchester United.

Acquired by the Foxes for just over 17 million euros, Ndidi is currently valued at 50 million euros (as per transfermarkt).

He is contracted to Leicester City until June 2024.
