Moffi Selected Ahead Of Mbappe In Ligue 1 Team Of The Week

The two youngsters inspired their respective teams to a fantastic victory over the weekend, but only the Nigerian made the team of the week

Terem Moffi’s starring performance in Lorient’s 4-1 win over Bordeaux has earned him a spot in the Ligue 1 team of the week, but there’s no place for Kylian Mbappe despite scoring a brace in PSG’s 3-1 win at Metz.

The former Kortrijk striker is included alongside Lille’s hat-trick hero Burak Yilmaz and Marseille’s Dimitri Payet in a three-pronged attack.

Not only that, the 21-year-old was the fourth-highest rated player in the team with a rating of 9.34 according to whoscored.

Moffi made history on Sunday after scoring a hat-trick as Lorient kept their survival hopes alive with a comprehensive victory over Bordeaux.

The 21-year-old’s hat-trick takes his tally to 14 league goals- the most scored by a Nigerian in the French top-flight in a single season since Victor Ikpeba scored 16 for Monaco in the 97/98 season.

And with four games left, Moffi is well on course to equal or even break the Prince of Monaco’s record. Moffi’s performance.

The Super Eagles hopeful is also one of the top scorers in the Ligue 1 this season, sitting in fifth place with 14 goals.
