AFCON Qualifiers: Super Eagles Back In Lagos For Lesotho Clash

The three-time African champions have already sealed the top spot in the Group L of the 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifiers, but they still have one game to go

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are back in Lagos following their win over the Benin Republic in a Group L Afcon qualifier clash at the Charles de Gaulle Stadium.

A Paul Onuachu header deep into stoppage time helped Gernot Rohr’s men to a 1-0 victory over their West African neighbours.

Nigeria had already secured qualification before the match, but the win means they are now guaranteed to finish in the top spot.

Nonetheless, they still have one game left: the clash against Lesotho at the Teslim Balogun Stadium on Tuesday.

And to get ready for the encounter, they arrived at Lagos on Sunday morning. The team once again journeyed by boat from Benin back to Lagos. They had employed the same mode of transportation to reach Benin on Friday.

The game against Lesotho will be the Super Eagles first game in Lagos since 2011.
