The Super Eagles goalkeeper has now kept a clean sheet in his last two games following a bad run of form in Sparta’s goal
Maduka Okoye had a comfortable night as Sparta Rotterdam made it back to back wins in the Eredivisie following a 2-0 victory over RKC Waalwijk at Sparta Stadion Het Kasteel.
Okoye now has two clean sheets in his last two league games after conceding nine in his previous four. The Super Eagles number one had little to do in goal last night as Sparta were on top for the whole 90 minutes.
Okoye did not make a save all night as Waawijk failed to manage a single shot on target. The 21-year-old did not claim any crosses either.
Sparta started on the front foot, but it was not until the 57th minute their dominance paid off. After a goalless first half, Henk Fraser’s men took the lead courtesy of a header from Tom Beugelsdijk following an assist from Deroy Duarte.
Bryan Smeets strike in the third minute of added time following another assist from Duarte sealed a comfortable win for the home side.
