UCL: Onyeka, Sanusi Star For As Midtjylland And Porto Secure Impressive Draws

The penultimate round of this season’s UEFA Champions League group stages took place on Tuesday night with the two Super Eagles stars on show for their respective clubs

Nigerian stars, Zaidu Sanusi and Frank Onyeka, were in action for their clubs as FC Porto and Midtjylland played out an impressive draw in their Champions League encounters.

Sanusi, who opened his account for Porto last week, gave another assured performance as the Portuguese champions held Manchester City to a 0-0 draw at the Estádio do Dragão.

The former Santa Clara was brilliant defensively against the attacking threat of City, which includes the likes of Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus.

Porto are now assured of a place in the Round of 16 following the draw as they are guaranteed to finish second in Group B.

Meanwhile, Frank Onyeka also delivered a fantastic performance as Midtjylland secured their first point of the season following a 1-1 draw at Atalanta.

The Danish side had lost all of their four matches in the group going into the game. However, they played out an impressive draw at the home of Atalanta.

Onyeka’s performance was vital to the result as the Nigerian was brilliant in the middle of the park. Alexander Scholz put Midtjylland ahead in the 13th minute and were on course for a shock win until Cristian Romero popped up 11 minutes from time to salvage a point for Atalanta.
