The former Midtjylland striker is not a favourite of the German tactician, but he once again showed why he deserves more opportunities
Paul Onuachu showed Gernot Rohr again why he can be a valuable option to the Super Eagles squad after he scored his 11th and 12th league goals in Genk’s 5-1 victory at Cercle Brugge.
Onuachu has found opportunities limited with the Super Eagles with Rohr not a big fan of his style. However, the 26-year-old continues to impress at his club as he scored a brace on Saturday night.
Onuachu opened the scoring for Genk in the ninth minute before Junya Ito made it two seven minutes later.
Bryan Heynen’s strike on the half-hour mark put the away side in a commanding lead before Onuachu made it four just seven minutes before the break.
His brace on the night takes him to the topscorers chart with 12 goals in 13 league games. The Nigerian international came off three minutes from time for his Super Eagles teammate, Cyriel Dessers.
Dino Hotic pulled one back for Cercle, but Theo Bongonda restored Genk’s four goal advantage in the 74th minute. It proved to be the final goal of the match as Genk moved top of the Jupiler League.

Why this Onuachu all the time? When he can’t replicates his form for country? A good player is a good player no matter the formation a coach adopts, where he plays or position he plays. Football is 95% Brian and 5% Body. And requires good athleticism—running. Not just playing in 18 yard box. Abeg enough!!! Make we hear better news
