The Super Eagles assistant captain has joined the Championship club from Italian Serie A side Udinese, and the Hornets boss believes it is a good signing for the club
Watford manager Vladimir Ivic has revealed that the signing of William Troost Ekong will help the club achieve its targets.
Ekong joins the Hornets from Udinese on a five-year deal, and will wear the number five jersey, Watford announced on their website.
It’s a shocking move, especially for Ekong who is leaving the highly-rated Italian Serie A for England’s second division.
However, one man is delighted the Super Eagles star is joining the Hornets, and that’s Ivic. The former Serbian international believes Ekong’s arrival will give his side a massive boost.
Watford suffered relegation from the Premier League last season, but are hoping for an immediate return. Ivic believes Ekong’s quality can help them achieve their future target.
“I know him as a quality player, and he will be one of the players who will help us in the future, if he will come, if he will join us, Ivic said as per Watford Observer.
Ekong’s arrival at Watford means he makes a return to England, where he started his career.
