After spending just one decent season with Aris Thessaloniki, 2013 African Cup of Nations-winning striker Brown Ideye has ended his association with the club.
The out of favour Super Eagles forward announced his departure from Greek Super League outfit Aris Thessaloniki after both parties could not agree to extend his one year deal.
Ideye joined the Greek side last summer on a free transfer after spending the previous campaign without a club.
The former West Brom striker scored seven goals in 19 league outings, added another one during the Super League play-offs, and found the back of the net two times in five Kypello Elladas matches.
Such a decent goal return was expected to earn Ideye a new deal at Aris, but the 31-year-old goal poacher announced through one of his social media accounts that it was the end of his spell at the club.
“Thank you @ARIS__FC for giving me the chance to be a part of ARIS family, to all the ARIS fans thanks a lot for making me feel I’m home, God Bless!” he wrote on Instagram.
The energetic striker, who was part of Stephen Keshi’s Super Eagles team that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa, will hope to secure a new club before the start of the 2020-21 campaign.
