Napoli Target Another Super Eagles Star As An Alternative To Victor Osimhen

The Serie A’s side primary target is Lille’s Victor Osimhen, but the Super Eagles striker is not interested in a move to Italy

Napoli are considering a move for another Nigerian star after Osimhen reportedly turned them down. According to French football journalist, Manu Lonjon, I Partenopei are considering making a move for Club Brugge’s striker, Emmanuel Dennis.

The 22-year-old who is also a target for Borussia Dortmund is considered as an alternative to his countryman, Osimhen, who is Napoli’s first choice.

Genaro Gattuso’s managed side were reportedly interested in bringing the Lille hotshot to Stadio San Paolo, but the 21-year-old turned them down.

Following Osimhen’s refusal to accept their offer, Napoli have now turned their attention to Dennis. The latter was an important member of the Club Brugge’s team that won the Belgium Pro League this season.

The Nigeria international scored nine goals and chipped in two assists in 33 games for the Blauw-Zwart. He caught Europe’s attention when he scored twice in Club Brugge’s champions league clash against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu last September.

But despite his importance to the side, Brugge manager, Phillipe Clement, revealed Dennis is likely to leave in the summer. And with him available, Napoli are considering making a move as they attempt to bolster their attacking options.

However, they will have to compete with Borussia Dortmund and several English sides who are also interested in the Nigerian.
