The Nigerian international is the subject of interest from several clubs in Europe with Les Dogues president saying the club has received multiple offers for his services
Lille’s owner, Gerard Lopez, says the club rejected offers for Osimhen in January, but that has not stopped teams from coming back for the services of the Nigerian.
Osimhen had a debut season to remember with Christophe Galtier’s side following his arrival from Royal Charleroi for £10m last summer.
The 21-year-old finished as Lille’s top scorer in all competitions with 18 goals and six assists in 38 games. His performance has caught the attention of Europe’s top clubs with the likes of Napoli, Tottenham, Liverpool and Chelsea all interested in the former Golden Eaglets star.
His future at Stade Pierre-Mauroy remains unclear, but Lille owner, Gerard Lopez, says bids have come in for him, although he did not mention the names of the clubs.
‘There are multiple offers,’ he told Sportsmail. ‘We turned down one English and one Spanish offer this January transfer window.
‘There is a wide array [this summer], and I wouldn’t want to give the names of the clubs who are bidding but what I can tell you is that there are multiple [offers]. There are three championships that have clubs that have bid for him.’
Lopez, however, hinted Osimhen will be allowed to leave, but it’ll be for a big money close to the amount Arsenal bought Nicolas Pepe.
The Ivory Coast international was signed for an African record fee of £72m, and Gerard confirmed Osimhen would only leave for a similar price.
‘I am not being a sales guy because last year people didn’t believe that we had the offers we had with [Nicolas] Pepe and it turns out we had multiple of them,’ he said.
‘Let me tell you with Osimhen, it is the same thing, whatever number you heard, the high number I have read is very much on the money of the offers that we have received. That’s where we are.’
