The young forward has been attracting attention from some of the biggest clubs in the world, but it has not surprised his club boss, who believes the Nigerian is destined for big things.
Lille sporting director Luis Campos is convinced that Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has all the qualities required to be a success at any of the world’s three biggest clubs.
Campos took a gamble on Osimhen last summer, persuading the French club to part with €12 million to sign the youngster from Belgium side Royal Charleroi.
Osimhen has gone on to flourish in France, netting 18 goals across all competitions before the coronavirus disease halted all football activities.
The likes of Liverpool and Manchester United, as well as Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid, have been linked with the 21-year-old following his exploits in Ligue 1 and the UEFA Champions League.
While Lille have expressed their intentions of holding on to Osimhen for at least one more year, famous Portuguese talent spotter Campos is confident the former Wolfsburg man is headed for the top.
“For me, Victor Osimhen is a very high-level player, who will undoubtedly finish in a top-three club in the world,” Campos said on Quarentena Da Bola via lepetitlillois.com.
“He has the potential, the desire to learn, the physical, mental, cognitive aspect, which is extraordinary, and I am sure he will play at the top.
“I can guarantee that he will play in the three biggest clubs if he has no injuries.”
