Victor Moses has been ruled out of Inter Milan’s Coppa Italia clash with Napoli on Thursday. The 29-year-old who joined the club in the January transfer window from Fenerbache will miss the second leg clash due to a muscle injury.
Inter lost the first leg at the San Siro 1-0 but will be without the Nigerian for the second leg.
The Nigerian played a crucial role in the Nerazzurri’s Uefa Europa league victory over Ludogorets on Thursday, and his absence will be a big blow for Antonio Conte.
The former Chelsea winger underwent medical tests on Monday where it was revealed that he has a muscle injury which confirms his absence from the match against Napoli in the Coppa Italia.
The severity of the injury is yet to be ascertained, but it will come as a big blow for Victor Moses who has been waiting for an extended run in the team in other to convince the club hierarchy to make his loan deal permanent in the Summer.
The club confirmed the injury on their website.
“Victor Moses underwent medical tests at the Humanitas Research Hospital in Rozzano this morning, with an MRI scan on his left thigh,” the club statement read.
“Results showed a strained muscle, with the player’s condition to be reassessed in the coming days.”
Moses has made seven appearances for Inter Milan in all competitions, he is still waiting for his first goal for the club, but he has recorded a solitary assist.
