The Nigeria international picked up a knee injury as he prepared for Wednesday’s Carabao Cup match against Aston Villa but there’s good news regarding his surgery.
Wilfred Ndidi has had a successful surgery and should be back in action in a few weeks, according to Leicester City gaffer Brendan Rodgers.
The 23-year-old is back at Leicester City and has started his rehabilitation after the successful operation. Rodgers however feared that the former Genk star may face a minimum of three weeks on the sidelines as he seeks to shake off the effects of the operation and regain his best form.
Speaking on Friday ahead of Leicester City’s Premier League clash against Southampton at the King Power Stadium, Rodgers noted the midfield enforcer is back at Belvoir Drive and has commenced the recovery process.
“It (Ndidi’s surgery) went very well,” Rodgers told the media in quotes carried by Leicester City’s official website.
“It was a good operation. He’s now back in and straight into his recovery. Something around that (three or four weeks). Sometimes it can be sooner, sometimes it can’t be.”
Ndidi had played 24 games in all competitions for the Foxes and scored two goals in the Premier League, prior to his unfortunate injury.
