The Shanghai Greenland Shenhua striker picked up two prizes at The Ballers Awards ceremony which held at Oriental Hotel in Victoria Island Lagos on Sunday.
Ighalo was named the forward of the year, beating the likes of Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze, Paul Onuachu and Ahmed Musa to the prize.
He was also named the Humanitarian of the year, an award that recognises his work for his community. Ighalo who just celebrated the 2nd anniversary of his orphanage home last month beat Asisat Oshoala and Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa to the award.
Reacting to the win in a video that was shown at the ceremony, Ighalo thanked the people behind the award show for recognising his humanitarian services.
He also thanked the fans who voted for him as the forward of the year. The former Super Eagles star won the golden boot at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, while he also scored 10 goals in 17 Chinese Super League matches
