Aliko Dangote Confirms Commitment To Buy Arsenal But Conditions Are Attached

The richest black man in the world has reaffirmed his desire to take over ownership of the London side.

Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man, worth an estimated £10b, has reaffirmed his desire to buy Arsenal, but only after the completion of his oil refinery project in Lagos.

The Nigerian wants to oust unpopular owner Stan Kroenke, who rarely shows in North London.

“It is a team that yes I would like to buy someday, but what I keep saying is we have $20billion worth of projects and that’s what I really want to concentrate on,’ Dangote told the David Rubenstein Show.

“I’m trying to finish building the company and then after we finish, maybe sometime in 2021 we can.

‘I’m not buying Arsenal right now, I’m buying Arsenal when I finish all these projects because I’m trying to take the company to the next level.”

Dangote is a self-confessed, life-long Arsenal fan who has consistently voiced out his desire to acquire the London club. Fans would certainly welcome a change in ownership, with current largest shareholder Stan Kroenke not particularly popular with the club’s fan base.
