Troost-Ekong Fails To Save Udinese From Lazio Rout

It was a moment of nightmare for Super Eagles defender in Serie A as Udinese were battered 3-0 by Lazio in Sunday tie at the Stadio Olimpico.

William Troost-Ekong was shown a yellow card in the 35th minute for a tough tackle that resulted in a penalty for the home team. The penalty was converted by Ciro Immobile to give the vociferous home supporters something to cheer again.

Before the goal, Immobile had netted the opening goal in the 9th minute when he calmly put the ball past Udinese goalkeeper, Juan Musso.

Lazio took the game beyond the reach of Udinese as Luis Alberto scored the third goal for the home team in the 45th minute.

The Nigerian international, who was making his 12th appearance for Le Zebrette, had the chance to redeem his image in the 78th minute but his header hit the tip of the crossbar.

The defeat leaves Udinese 15th on the Serie A table after 14 rounds of matches.
