Super Eagles Most Outstanding Star Reacts To An Incredible Victory in Lesotho

Two goals and two assists in Maseru to hand the Nigeria a convincing 4-2 win helped Lille forward Victor Osimhen claim the man-of-the-match award, and the youngster has expressed his delight at the victory, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Super Eagles have taken control of Group L in the race for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations following their third straight win over Lesotho on Sunday night.

Goals from Everton’s Alex Iwobi, Villarreal’s Samuel Chukwueze and a brace from star striker Victor Osimhen secured another comeback win for the Super Eagles, on a fine evening in Maseru.

Victor Osimhen had a hand in every goal scored by the Eagles, supplying the assist that Iwobi slotted in for the equalizer after Lesotho had taken an early lead.

Osimhen’s over the top pass soon after found the head of Samuel Chukwueze who then lobbed the goalkeeper with a classy finish as Gernot Rohr’s men took the lead for the first time in the encounter just before the break.

The former Sporting Charleroi forward then netted his brace in the 75th and 85th minutes to take the tie beyond the reach of the Crocodiles.

Osimhen later took to social media site, Twitter, to celebrate the crucial victory and to express his happiness at his contribution in the game.

Great game/performance from the whole squad🙌🏽very happy to get 2 goals and 2 assists✊🏽GOD is the greatest🙏🏽we move✊🏽,”he tweeted after the game.

Osimhen, 20, has now scored four goals in eight appearances for the three-time African champions.
