Adam Lallana came off the bench to rescue a point for Liverpool as their winning run was ended by Manchester United at Old Trafford
VAR made the headlines again as Marcus Rashford’s controversial strike looked to have handed Man Utd a crucial win, before Lallana struck in the 85th minute.
Soccernet.ng rate the performance of the Man United players against Liverpool.
David de Gea 6 – Helpless from Adam Lallana’s goal and had very little else to deal with aside from that.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka 7 – Deployed on the right of a back five and did his job superbly, maintaining the right position and holding the ball very well.
Victor Lindelof 5 – Was lucky to have VAR save him from a weak aerial challenge in the first half and occasionally struggled with Divock Origi. Once again too timid at the near post for Liverpool’s equaliser.
Harry Maguire 7 – Commanding from start to finish at the base of defence. United’s overall assurance at the back has improved since he arrived.
Marcos Rojo 6.5 – Sometimes a bit too rash with his decision making, but my goodness, what wonderful lack of regard for one’s physical health. Threw himself at everything.
Ashley Young 7 – Often a maligned player but was spot on today, just like in the 2-1 win over Liverpool in March 2018. His outside pass in behind for Rashford caused problems.
Scott McTominay 6 – Battled well at the base of midfield for the most part, but his passing was slightly off.
Fred 6 – Once again looked dubious in possession, as if still unsure of himself, but his work ethic was superb throughout.
Andreas Pereira 7 – The No.10 role is definitely where the Brazilian thrives the most. Excellent spring to his running and always looked for the ball in behind.
Daniel James 7 – In the white heat of such a huge game, the 21-year-old’s touch at close quarters was better than any other attacker. Very impressive.
Marcus Rashford 7 – A total contrast to the fatigued, meek figure which we saw against Newcastle United. Played with real presence and scored a classic striker’s goal. Big game player.
