After a disappointing 1-1 draw against Wolves on Monday, Manchester United will be aiming to ambush Crystal Palace in Saturday’s Premier League at Old Trafford as Paul Pogba hopes to redeem himself after Monday’s penalty lose.
Recall that Paul Pogba’s late penalty could have seen United come through two difficult early tests unscathed, but Rui Patricio was on hand to save and ensure that his Wolverhampton Wanderers side came out with a creditable 1-1 draw.
However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men will be looking to make it two wins out of two at home this season, having emphatically beaten Chelsea 4-0 on an opening day.
Despite United’s encouraging start to the new season, it has not been forgotten just how disappointing their end to the 2018-19 campaign was. After replacing Jose Mourinho in December, Solskjaer won 10 and drew two of his opening 12 games in charge.
Roy Hodgson’s Palace, on the other hand, will be looking to register their first goal of 2019-20, having drawn blanks against Everton and Sheffield United.
Possible starting lineup
Manchester United: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Lindelof, Shaw; McTominay, Pogba, Pereira; Lingard, Rashford, Martial
Crystal Palace: Guaita; Ward, Kelly, Dann, Van Aanholt; Townsend, Milivojevic, McArthur, Meyer; Zaha, Benteke
Head To Head
Crystal Palace ground out a dogged 0-0 draw at Old Trafford, in what was to be one of Jose Mourinho’s final matches in the home dugout at the Theatre of Dreams.
When the two sides faced each other again in late February, it was Solskjaer in charge of the Red Devils. A scintillating brace from Romelu Lukaku helped United on their way to a comfortable 3-1 victory in the end.
Crystal Palace have still never beaten Manchester United in a Premier League match.
Betting Tips
Man United won’t find this encounter easy at Old Trafford considering how Crystal Palace have always made life diffiuclt for some of the top six teams in the Premier League. However, Th team could managed to snatch a 1-0 win over Palace.
