Man United 4-0 Chelsea: Jose Mourinho reserves high praise for Man United’s star

Manchester United picked Chelsea apart at Old Trafford on Sunday, with Rashford grabbing a brace but it is another Red Devils star who has earned full praise from the former Real Madrid manager.

Rashford, named as the Man-of-the-Match, grabbed a brace and Martial netted another but three other players caught José Mourinho’s eyes with Harry Maguire especially drawing accolades from the Portuguese.

The former manager who has at different times taken charge of Chelsea and Man United was impressed by the contributions of Harry Maguire on his debut at Old Trafford.

The ex-Leicester defender registered more clearances, more interceptions and more blocks than any other player on the pitch, and Mourinho had nothing but compliments for the 26-year-old.

“The three boys were fantastic. Maguire man of the match, Bissaka, very solid, this kid (James) comes in, scores a goal, for these three boys, couldn’t be better,” Mourinho said after the game.

“He (Maguire) was solid like a rock. It’s very important for a team to have that personality, that sense of reading the game, being alert, confidence to play. He was fantastic.

“You can be very dangerous in attack but if you feel that a mistake is around the corner it takes your confidence away and you don’t play as well. When you feel there is something that allows you to play you are much more confident.

“Lindelof can be a very good player, and with Maguire they could make a very good couple,” Mourinho concluded.
