Betting Tips: See Games You Should Consider Putting Money On This Weekend

The football season is back following three months of boring international football and preseason matches. Leagues such as the Eredivisie and Belgium Top flight kicked off last week, but the real excitement starts this weekend when the English Premier League and French Ligue 1 kicks off.

The Spanish La Liga and the German Bundesliga starts a week later while the Italian Serie A won’t begin until August 25.

Nevertheless, the new season promises bring all the excitement, funs and drama that is associated with football. However, while having fun, there’s also an avenue to make a little cash by placing money on your favourite teams.

As a result, Soccernet.ng will be picking out matches to bet on every weekend. Here are our selected picks for this weekend’s matches.

West Ham Vs Man City: The champions begin their title defence on the road as they make the trip to London where they will take on West Ham. Managed by former City manager Manuel Pellegrini, the Hammers will be hoping cause an upset on Saturday afternoon.

Team News: New signings Sebastien Haller and Pablo Fornals should make their Premier League bow for West Ham but Mark Noble is out. Leroy Sane is out for Man City after he was ruled out for six months by Pep Guardiola due to a cruciate ligament injury. But Riyad Mahrez should be back while Rodri will hope to make his league bow.

Betting Tips:  It’s hard to look past a City win, so City win is the safe bet. However, matches between these two have always produced goals, so another option is over 2.5 (City win or Over 2.5)

Tottenham Vs Aston Villa: Last season Champions League runners up will hope to get their campaign on a winning note when they take on newly-promoted Aston Villa. The Lilywhites who failed to make any signing last season have added Giovani le Celso and Ryan Sessegnon to the squad this season. Villa who are the second biggest spenders in the transfer window will go to North London with the hope of frustrating their hosts.

Team News: Heung-Min Son is suspended after picking up a red card in Spurs penultimate game of last season while le Celso will not feature due to lack of preseason training. Egyptian striker Mahmoud Trezeguet will be hoping to start but Douglas Costa is likely to sit this one out.

Betting Tips: Villa will go into the game with the intention of keeping things compact and that may affect Tottenham in the early stages. But Spurs should still have enough to get the maximum points in this one (Spurs win and Over 1.5)

Newcastle Vs Arsenal: The winners of the transfer window will start their campaign when they travel to the North-East to take on Newcastle. Emery will hope his new signings hit the ground running quickly as they attempt to make the top four. The Magpies meanwhile start life under Steve Bruce who replaced Rafael Benitez. And they will hope they can put on a show in front of their fans on Sunday.

Team News: Record signing, Nicolas Pepe is likely not to start for Arsenal, but Dani Ceballos should. Alexandre Lacazette is also a doubt for the Gunners. For Newcastle, record signing Joel Ellington will hope to impress the home fans on his debut but Andy Caroll may have to settle for a place on the bench.

Betting Tips: It’s hard to predict which Arsenal is going to turn up. On paper, it should be an easy win for the gunners but it all depends on how their new signings are able to adapt quickly to the surroundings. However, previous matches have shown that there are always goals. (Over 2.5)

Man Utd Vs Chelsea: The biggest game of the weekend. The two heavyweights clash at Old Trafford with Man Utd hoping to banish the memories of last season where they fail to win any of their home matches against the top six. Chelsea meanwhile start a new life under Frank Lampard who has been unable to improve the squad due to a transfer ban

Team News: World’s most expensive defender, Harry Maguire should slot straight into United’s lineup but another signing in the person of Daniel James may have settle for a place on the bench. Meanwhile, Blues American star Pulisic will hope to start his premier league career on a winning note. Tammy Abraham is expected to lead the line for Chelsea with former Arsenal striker, Olivier Giroud starting from the bench.

Betting Tips: This will be a cagey affair especially with both sides lacking quality players that can turn the screw around. Both sides played out a 1-1 draw in this fixture last season and it looks like history will repeat itself. (Draw or Under 2.5)
