AFCON 2019: Otedola Gives Super Eagles ₦9m

Nigerian Billionaire, Femi Otedola has given $25,000 to the Super Eagles for the lone goal they scored against Algeria in their semifinal loss at the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations.

The business mogul promised the team $25,000 per goal prior to the clash. While the team could not get the result, they did score a goal through Odion Ighalo’s penalty.

Otedola has now fulfilled the promise by paying $25,000 for the goal. The Nigeria Football Federation made this known after they posted a picture of the Billionaire alongside Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo and technical members of the team on their social media page.

There may still be more dollar rain on the Super Eagles with the team still waiting on Aliko Dangote to fulfil is $50,000 per goal pledge in the same match.  The Super Eagles finished third at the Africa Cup of Nations after beating Tunisia in the third-place encounter.
