Munich on standstill as Bayern host Dortmund

German football lovers are in for a weekend to remember as Bayern Munich host Borussia Dortmund tomorrow in a potential title decider at the Allianz Arena. This is just one of the games lined up for the weekend, which begins today with Mainz hosting Freiburg.

Current table topper, Dortmund will attempt to snatch three points from Bayern Munich to retain its place, but they will do it without striker, Paco Alcacer, who suffered an arm injury during their 2-0 win over Wolfsburg last weekend. The Spaniard hasn’t been able to train for two days in a row as a result, and is now a doubt for today’s game.

Being without Alcacer for the Bayern game would be a big blow for Borussia Dortmund, who have already lost Achraf Hakimi to a long-term injury. Lukasz Piszczek and Abdou Diallo are also doubts for the game.

Alcacer has scored 16 goals in the Bundesliga this season, and netted the winning goal in Borussia Dortmund’s 3-2 win over Bayern Munich back in November.
