Odey, who came on as second half substitute for Ghanaian forward, Raphael Dwamena in the 73rd minute was happy to feature for the first time in the colours of the club. The Nigerian striker who has been handed jersey number 15, later took to twitter to express his feelings.
“So I finally made my debut for @fc_zuerich senior team as a Sub for senior man @RaphaelDwamena. Played for 18 minutes and we won 4-1,” the 19-year-old striker wrote after making his dream debut for the Swiss club.
Odey joined FC Zurich from MFM FC Lagos after signing a contract until the end of the 2020/2021 season. FC Zurich and Odey had already agreed on this transfer a few weeks ago, but clearance by FIFA had been outstanding.
Meanwhile, he finished as NPFL second top-scorer with 18 goals last season.
