Ex international, Peter Rafai says he can’t forget the goal scored against him by Roberto Baggio at the 1994 World Cup in a hurry.
Rufai is presently with the Nigerian contingent at the ongoing Star Sixes six-a-side indoor football competition in London, where the team managed just three points and placed third on the log.
It will be recall that the Super Eagles were on the verge of qualifying to the quarter final of the World Cup when Baggio netted a penalty that ended Nigeria’s fairytale dream.
However, Rufai applauded the goal scored by Baggio against him and believed it was a beauty to behold.
“I still remember that experience of the ’94 World Cup, but all the same you remain one of my favourite players,” said Ruffai in a video message on Sky Sport Italia.
“I always appreciated your discipline and character, both on and off the pitch.
“I hope to meet you one day, you never can tell, but you remain one of my legends. Keep it going and I wish you all the best.
“I am not angry you scored in the ’94 World Cup, I’ll tell you something, that was a beautiful goal you scored! Well done.”
