NNL: Ahead of new season, Duke Udi names Osun Utd squad

Osun United Football Club, has stated their readiness ahead of the new season as the technical crew named its final 29-man squad ahead of the 2017 Nigeria National League scheduled to kick off this weekend.

The head coach of the Omoluabi Giants, Duke Udi, expressed confidence in the players listed in a statement signed by the club’s spokesman, Tunde Shamsudeen.

The gaffer stated that the quality of players at the team disposal will help the club to achieve its dream of securing promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Udi, maintained that he and his assistants after assembling the players for the team, have no excuses of not getting the needed results desired.

He stated further that the confidence shown to him and his assistants by the management, supporters and the good people of the State of Osun will not be regretted as the team will get its rhythm.

“We have the support of the chairman, the board members, the supporters and the good people of the state and I think this will be a season of happiness for Osun United.”

The recruited players include former junior international Soga Sambo, from Stade de Abidjan, Edebiri Amaefe from Kwara United, Obasi Chigozie from Samvic Academy, Mojeed Yusuf from Gateway United, Emmanuel Osigwe from Jigawa Golden Stars, Sunday Afolabi from Crown FC, and Dangbin Gosselle from Giwa FC.

Others are Jide Fatokun from Gray’s Intl. FC, Kunle Idris Ashiru from Gray’s Intl. FC, Dare Olatunji from Police FC, Tosin Omoyele from COD United, and Mustapha Ramoni from FC Ebedei.

The old players who were named include captain Olalere Akeem, Ayo Ojo, Bisi Olagunju, Lekan Oseolohun, Olusola Akilapa, Tosin Olabode and Damola Fakayode.

Others are Nurudeen Lateef, Aliu Mohammed, Samson Awomodu, Kehinde Adeyemi, Ikenna Ibezim, Adeyemi Adeyeye, Alaji Rasaq, Mamud Akorede, Mohammed Abubakar, and Victor Okeji.
