| Ter Stegen returns to Barça training after Injury |
After a disappointing 2-1 loss at the Camp Nou to newly-promoted Deportivo Alaves, Barcelona have something to rejoice about as first choice goalkeeper Marc Andre Ter Stegen returned to normal training after missing the weekend game through a knee injury.
Ter Stegen picked up an injury in Barça's Friday training session, a day before the club's game against Alaves which meant that the Geran shot-stopper missed the encounter at the Camp Nou of which Barça would go on to lose 2-1 with Jasper Cillessen in goal.
Ter Stegen did some workouts in the Sunday training session but returned to full training on Monday (today). He trained normally with the entire available team without any problems and has fully recovered from the injury.
It was speculated that Ter Stegen would be out for around two weeks but the goalkeeper has recovered very fast and coach Luis Enrique confirmed that he's fully fit, although it's still unclear if he'll make the match squad against Celtic in Barça's next game.
“Ter Stegen trained normally with the whole team and is fully fit which is a very good sign. We'll make a decision tomorrow if he plays or not,” Luis Enrique said in his pre-match press conference in response to a question pointing to the availability of Ter Stegen for the game against Celtic in the UEFA Champions League.
All things suggest Ter Stegen is fit but is very unlikely to play against Celtic as Luis Enrique wouldn't want to take risks. Jasper Cillessen will very likely start as he went through intensive training with goalkeeping coach Juan Carlos Unzue. However, Ter Stegen is expected to return fully when Barça take on Leganes in La Liga on Sunday.
The news is a good one for all Barça fans as it means the club's full squad are now fit and available for the upcoming hectic schedule of 6 games in 20 days..
