FC Barcelona continue their preparations for the official 2016/2017 season and have named a 23-man squad list that will travel to England to face Premier League club Liverpool in their third game of the preseason.
After great performances that saw them beat Scottish Champions Celtic 3-1 and English Champions Leicester City 4-2, the Catalans return to action and will go head to head against Liverpool in their third and final game of the International Champions Cup preseason tournament on Saturday evening in Wembley.
Prior to the game, coach Luis Enrique has named a list of 23 players in the squad that will travel to Liverpool and there are a host of first team players who return in action including new signing Lucas Digne.
The French defender joined Barça this summer and was due to return on August 8 but cut his holiday short to join the team, he is likely to make his debut in the colours of FC Barcelona against Liverpool on Saturday.
Joining Lucas Digne in the squad list are quite a host of first team players including the likes of goalkeepers Marc Andre Ter Stegen, Claudio Bravo; defenders Douglas Pereira, Gerard Pique, Jordi Alba, Thomas Vermaelen; and midfielders Andres Iniesta, Ivan Rakitic. The likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Munir El Haddadi, Arda Turan, Denis Suarez, Sergi Samper, Sergio Busquets, Javier Mascherano, Sergi Roberto, Jeremy Mathieu, Aleix Vidal and Jordi Masip who all played against Leicester are also in the list.
The availability of major first team players meant the 9 junior players who were present against Leicester are cut to just three with Juan Camara, Alfaro and Mujica the only survivors which means there are 20 first team players and 3 junior team players in the list.
