PSG Join Barcelona, Madrid in race for Nigerian youngster

Some time ago SoccerNet Nigeria reported that Spanish giants, Barcelona were keeping tabs on America born Lateef Omidiji Jr. According to our latest findings PSG is also one of the many clubs interested in the young forward.

Lateef Omidiji Jr is a Nigerian-American who plays in the Netherlands for Dordrecht U14, he has been turning a lot of heads lately.

The 12-year-old who has committed his international football career to Nigeria is being watched by numerous clubs including Olympique Marseille, Real Madrid, Barcelona and PSG to mention a few.

“I know PSG is in the race for him, so are Olympique Marseille, Lyon from the french perspective that I know for sure. In Belgium Next door, Anderlecht and Lierse are monitoring him with Brugges also in the tow,” Louis Bertrand a French scout told soccernet.com.ng.

“Clearly the british clubs are after him but our biggest fear is that we will lose him to Madrid or Barcelona. They were all on the sidelines watching along with me two weeks ago at a tournament. “

Lateef recently met with his favourite Super Eagles stars in Luxembourg. While interacting with the players he was encouraged to continue with his fine performances and to choose Nigeria over USA.
