CCL: Enyimba Vs Zamalek – Live

Enyimba’s bid for a third Caf Champions League victory begins against
Zamalek at the Adokiye Anamesiamaka Stadium, Port Harcourt on Sunday.

The reigning Nigerian champs go into the game on the back of an
unimpressive run in the Nigeria Professional Football League – with
three defeats and a draw in their last four games. And they would be
aiming for a strong performance against the north Africans.

Coach Mohammed Helmy will be missing the services of five key players
owing to injuries and disciplinary issue – yet still boast of a solid
team that can get a result against Paul Aigbogun’s side.

Both sides are experiencing contrasting fortunes in their domestic
leagues with Enyimba placing  seventh in the NPFL while Zamalek are
second in the Egyptian elite division.

Enyimba are favorites are favorites judging by home advantage but
coach Helmy has declared that his side will play with no fear in
Nigeria.

“We respect all our opponents, but we fear no one,” Helmy said.

“It’s been so long since we won an African trophy [2002]. This
generation of players can bring back the Caf Champions League to the
club.

“We know Enyimba is a very good side with a huge continental history.
Every game at this stage is difficult and we respect all the teams.
Sometimes it’s healthy to feel worried, but not fearful. We will do our
best in Nigeria.”

The two sides are looking to take early control of Group B before facing ES Setif and Mamelodi Sundowns in upcoming games.
