Daniel: We have players good enough to win the Olympics

Nigeria’s Dream Team VI goalkeeper Emmanuel Daniel has assured that Nigeria will do well at the forthcoming Olympics billed for Rio, Brazil in August.

Ennamuel Daniel Samson Siasia’s men will battle in Group B alongside Japan, Colombia and Sweden in the preliminary round of the competition.

Speaking with NAIJ.com, the shot-stopper disclosed that the present crop of players selected by Samson Siasia can get the job done in Rio.

“Presently our squad is a very good,” he started. We have played together for a while and we won the Nations Cup.

“I think we can go far at the Olympics because we have a good coach and he has selected good players too.”

Daniel who is on the radar of Shooting Stars as well as Nasarawa United asserted that the 1- 0 away victory in the friendly played against the Brazil is an evidence that Nigeria will do well against any opposition.

“The match against Brazil was a tough one but fortunately for us we won the match.

“We had only nine first players who started that game, and we played with knocks and injuries, even the goal scorer Ubong Ekpai played with an injury,” he said.
