Ighalo fit for Nigeria, Egypt match

Super Eagles and Watford striker, Odion Ighalo has declared himself fit for the upcoming African Cup of Nations (AFCON) double header with the Pharaohs of Egypt later this month.

Ighalo was reacting to rumours that he got injured during ‎his club’s FA Cup duel with Arsenal on Sunday as he left the pitch limping after 82 minutes for Moroccan forward Nordin Amrabat.

“It’s not true that I was injured. I was taken off as a precautionary measure by the coach who didn’t want to risk anything. There’s nothing to be worried about as I’m fit,” Ighalo, who has bagged 16 goals in all competitions said.

On the upcoming AFCON dates with Egypt, he stated that: “‎We know what is at stake and we will not disappoint. We have to win to brighten our chances and personally I believe to qualify for the Nations Cup is top priority for us.”
