Nigerian youngster Kelechi Iheanacho has been rewarded for a blistering start to the year 2016 after he was rewarded as a nominee for Manchester City’s Player of the Month for January alongside Argentine star striker Sergio Aguero and French right-back Bacary Sagna.
This is in addition to his recent inclusion in the club’s UEFA Champions League roster this week having been omitted from the list at the start of the season. Iheanacho was in sensational form in January as he scored four goals and assisted three others in just three Manchester City starts.
Meanwhile, the highlight of his excellent performance was the superb hat-trick he netted in the 4-0 thumping of Premier League bottom club Aston Villa in the 4th Round of the English FA Cup. He has so far scored eight goals in 19 appearances in all competitions for The Citizens.
