Leicester moves for Ahmed Musa

The English Premier League leaders are still keen on the CSKA Moscow’s £20m-rated striker Ahmed Musa and are looking to secure his signature before the January transfer window is closed.

CSKA Moscow have reportedly rejected an initial bid of £15.1m from Leicester for the Nigeria captain and are holding out to a figure closer to the £22.8m buyout clause in his contract, which runs until 2019.

Leicester are surprise title contenders, lead the Premier League with 15 games of the season remaining, enjoy a three points lead over closest title rival Manchester City and are ready to spend the money to sustain the momentum.
Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri is in the market and seriously searching for backup to his striking duo of Jamie Vardy and Mahrez.
The duo has contributed most of the Foxes’ goals this season and coincidentally Leicester has struggled for form about the same time goals dried up for the magical couple. Vardy already has 16 goals while Mahrez has chipped in with 13. The next Leicester topscorer is Okazaki with 4 goals.
And the former Chelsea manager is determined to bring in a proven alternative to take the goal scoring loads off the Englishman and Algerian.
The Nigerian forward has Champions League experience and is currently CSKA Moscow’s highest goal scorer with 10 goals. The 23-year-old is believed to be open to a move to Leicester.
