Alex Iwobi Congratulates Dream Team For Rio Qualification

SoccerNet NigeriaSoccerNet Nigeria
Arsenal striker Alex Iwobi has hailed the Dream Team for becoming the first country in Africa to qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games.

The 19 – year – old is yet to make his debut for the Nigeria U23s after training with the squad in January, but would have done so in Senegal if he had received clearance from Arsenal to make the trip to Africa.

These days, Iwobi is an important member of the Arsenal U21s side and has been drafted into the first team several times this season, especially when the squad is suffering an injury crisis like the case now.

“Congrats to Nigeria U23s qualifying , proud of my nation, ” the Nigeria international tweeted.

Alex Iwobi watched proceedings from the bench as Arsenal booked their place in the next round of the Champions League by beating Olympiakos 3 – 0 on Wednesday night.
