Nigerian duo of Nosa Igiebor and Rabiu Ibrahim suffered defeats with their respective clubs in the UEFA Champions League qualifier on Tuesday.
Igiebor was on target for Maccabi Tel Aviv but it wasn’t enough as they lost 2-1 away to Hibernians in the Champions League qualifiers on Tuesday.
Igiebor who moved to the Israeli league from Real Betis in 2014, put Maccabi Tel Aviv ahead in the 22nd minute.
But with 15 minutes to go, Hibernians turned the game around with goals from Jorge Pereira and Jackson Lima in the 74th and 85th minutes, giving Hibernians a 2-1 win.
In Slovakia, Ibrahim’s club, Trencin, suffered a 2-0 home loss to Steaua Bucuresti thanks to goals from Nicolae Stanciu in the 63rd minute and Jugurtha Hamroun in the 70th minute.
Ibrahim was later replaced by Ryan Koolwijk in the 79th minute.
