Sone Aluko Stars as Hull City Slumps to Arsenal Defeat
Nigerian International Sone Aluko featured for 65 minutes
but could not help his team Hull City avoid a 1-3 defeat at home to Arsenal.
Earlier on Sunday, Mikel Obi’s Chelsea won the Premier
League with three games left to play after edging past Crystal Palace at the
Stamford Bridge.

A brace from Alexis Sanchez and a stunning Ramsey goal gave Arsenal
a comfortable first half lead before Quinn got a consolation for the Tigers.
It was always going to be a daunting task for the home side having
lost five and drawn one of the last six Barclays Premier League games against
Arsenal, including defeats in all three games at the KC Stadium, and the game
ended up too difficult a mountain to climb, as a scintillating first half
performance blew the Tigers away.
The Gunners started with the confidence of a team who had
won eight and lost none of the last nine meetings with Hull in all
competitions.
Alexis Sanchez, who had scored in both of his appearances
this season against Hull City, continued his impressive form and put Arsenal
ahead in the 28th minute via a deflected free kick.

Ramsey got Arsenal’s second after excellently collecting a 50-yard pass from
Cazorla and then expertly sending a looping strike into the top corner.
Arsenal did not stop pressing and just before half time,
Sanchez got his second and Arsenal’s third when he received a brilliant reverse
pass from Ramsey before rounding Harper to slot home.
Quinns’ headed goal, shortly before the hour-mark, was a
mere consolation and by the time Sone Aluko was withdrawn for Robertson, it was
already game, set and match.
The loss leaves Hull City just a point above the relegation
zone having played a game more than Sunderland.

Arsenal, however, climbs back to third on the Premier League
table, level on points with second-placed Manchester City with a game in hand.
