It has grown to be a huge period of controversies for the Catalan giants. In a bid to bring back their lost glory, Barcelona have sacked Sporting Director Andoni Zubizarreta.
Barcelona blew the chance to go top in La Liga after losing to Real Sociedad on sunday, this provoked the fans and they want the board to be fumigated.
A day after the loss, Barca sounded out that the contract of Zubi has been terminated and they are in search of a new Sporting Director.
After Zubizarreta had been fired, assistant Sporting Director and for Barca skipper Carles Puyol was expected to take over the new role but unfortunately, the Barca Legend announced his retirement hours after Zubi’s sack.
However, reports claim Puyol feels he isn’t ready to take up the new role and will like to go and learn more, then return to the club in future. Well, lets hope!
Moreover, reports also suggest that Puyol sounded that he will be travelling to New York, USA to improve his English Language.
With all these Crisis happening in the past 32 hours, it is a pure sign that this could be the end of the present Barca board. With an election set to hold in 2016, some members of the board (hopefully the good ones) are expressing their impatience with Barca’s current situation and are calling for the elections to be held at the end of this season. Hopefully it will and we’ll see Joan Laporta, who is a strong contender, kick out Josep Maria Bartomeu from Barca’s presidency.
These Crisis are the Basic things that brings down a team, even the greatest can crumble if mismanaged. Therefore, this is a very delicate period for FC Barcelona and needs to be taken care of lightly. Right now, I see a bright future at the Club but this can only be achieved if the ‘Men Up There’ understands the team more than they do right now. A prosperous team is led by a competent Board, a competent Coach, therefore, thinking before acting should be put into place to take our beloved team back to greatness. Visca Barca!
