What Zimbabwe will do to Super Eagles in Uyo – Ex-Bayern Munich defender

Former Bayern Munich defender and current Benin Republic head coach, Gernot Rohr, has issued a strong warning to Nigeria’s Super Eagles ahead of their next 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe in Uyo, Soccernet.ng reports.

Speaking after Benin’s 2-2 draw with Zimbabwe, Rohr — who once managed the Super Eagles — praised the Warriors’ fighting spirit and hinted at their determination to cause trouble for Nigeria when both teams meet at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Tuesday.

At the post-match press conference, Rohr, whose team are still in contention for their first-ever World Cup qualification, seems satisfied with their result against Zimbabwe.

“The 2-2 draw is okay. In the first half, we were the better team, but they dominated in the second half. 2-2 is always one point,” said the former Super Eagles coach.

Rohr revealed the resilience of the Zimbabwean team, especially given their slim chances of qualifying for the World Cup, but noted that their efforts should not be underestimated.

He added: “We knew that it was the last chance for Zimbabwe to qualify for the World Cup. Now, with three points, it is finished,

“But they are fighting very well and I know with this coach and his staff, they will do the same in Uyo and the same against Rwanda and Lesotho.”
