Victor Boniface sends message to Nigerian fans after important goal in Bayer Leverkusen win

Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has pleaded with Nigerian football fans to remain patient with him amid his goal drought at international level, Soccernet.ng reports.

Boniface was in Nigeria’s squad for the last 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, and he only got nine minutes of action as Victor Osimhen returned to his position as the first-choice striker.

Before the last set of games for Nigeria, Boniface had constantly been maligned for his lack of goals at international level. The 24-year-old striker has registered 11 appearances for Nigeria, but he has just one goal to his name, and it was not a competitive one.

Nonetheless, despite his struggles for Nigeria, Boniface has been shining at club level. He scored the second goal for Bayer Leverkusen as they defeated Bochum on Friday.

After that goal, the Super Eagles star took to social media to beg Nigerians for patience. In am Instagram post, Boniface wrote, “9ja plz be patient with me, the goal will come.”
