“Fits into every team” – Super Eagles captain urges Osimhen to make Premier League move

Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong, has urged Nigeria and Galatasaray striker, Victor Osimhen, to make a Premier League move next summer, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 26-year-old was linked with several Premier League clubs last season, but a concrete move failed to occur. Instead, Osimhen joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan.

However, the former LOSC Lille forward harbours dreams of playing in the English Premier League, and Ekong has urged him on to make the move when the transfer window opens in July.

What Ekong said

“I know he’s a Chelsea fan, but I also know he’s had talks with all the top teams. It’s up to him what he chooses. He will fit into every team. I know Liverpool have spoken about getting a new striker next season. We will see.

“I’m also reading, like everyone else is, that he has a clause this summer. When he went to Galatasaray, I think it worked out amazingly for him. I couldn’t see him playing there for another season, or anywhere else but the Premier League next season,” the Super Eagles captain said in quotes revealed by TalkSPORT.

Quizzed about Osimhen’s finishing, Ekong revealed the Napoli loanee isn’t satisfied with his level and is constantly working on being a lethal finisher.

“It’s the part he’s working on the most. His qualities are his tenacity, he’s relentless, and he’ll chase down every ball. In the air, he’s amazing. You can play the ball up to him, and he’ll hold the ball up.

“If he’s one-on-one in the box, or you cross it in, he’s going to score. He’s direct, so I think that’s why he would suit the Premier League,” the former Watford defender concluded.

Osimhen is set to leave Napoli this summer, with his release clause believed to be around £63m, while his wage demands would be in the region of £200,000-a-week.

The Galatasaray forward has been in fine form since moving to the Turkish Super Lig in September. He’s scored 26 goals and provided five assists in 30 games across all competitions for Okan Buruk‘s side.
