Nigerian teen sensations Amusan and M’Bock score as 1860 München win and Werder Bremen lose

Nigerian teenage striker Folawiyo Amusan continued his rich vein of form as he scored in 1860 München’s emphatic 6-1 victory over Bayreuth in the U17 Bundesliga on Wednesday afternoon, Soccernet.ng reports.

Amusan wasted no time in making his mark, firing the hosts ahead in the third minute at the Trainingsgelände TSV 1860 in München – his fourth goal in three matches.

Bayreuth responded swiftly, with Nick Karnitzschky equalising just six minutes later. However, 1860 München quickly reasserted their dominance as Paul Sturm restored the lead before half-time.

The hosts ran riot after the break, with Valentin Bannert, Arda Efe, Fabian Schmid, and Bienvenue Kawele – who represents Congo DR – all finding the net to seal a commanding win.

It has been a productive few weeks for Amusan, who also scored four days earlier in a 2-0 away victory over Chemnitzer FC U17.

His standout display came on February 22, when he bagged a brace in a thrilling 5-3 win against Jahn Regensburg U17.

Amusan was not the only Nigerian teenager who made waves in Germany on the day.

At Bayern München, 15-year-olds Richard Ajayi and Frank Egwuatu both featured in the club’s 4-2 away win over Stuttgarter K’rs U17.

Defender Ajayi received a straight red card in the 62nd minute for what appeared to be an innocuous tackle, but Bayern held firm to claim victory. Striker Egwuatu, who has nine goals this season, could not add to his tally.

Meanwhile, in the U19 Bundesliga, Princewill M’Bock netted his first goal of the year for Werder Bremen at the Weserstadion Platz 12, though his side fell to a 2-3 defeat at home to Chemnitzer FC.

The 18-year-old forward opened the scoring in the 35th minute, but the visitors mounted a comeback to snatch all three points.
