“I’ll do everything”- Akor Adams makes promise to Sevilla fans ahead of La Liga home stretch

Nigerian striker Akor Adams has promised Sevilla fans that he will do everything possible to help the club finish in a good position this season, Soccernet.ng reports.

Adams completed a surprise €5.5 million transfer to Sevilla from Ligue 1 club Montpellier in January. In France, he registered 13 goals and three assists in 49 appearances, and he was expected to be a boost for the Sevilla frontline.

Unfortunately for him, he suffered a hamstring injury just weeks into his stay with Los Nervionenses. So he has been out of action since mid-February. However, the 25-year-old striker is expected to return to action after the international break.

Sevilla fans will hope that he can help them secure a better finish in La Liga, as they sit 10th, with 36 points after 28 games. And ahead of his return, Adams has promised them that he will do his best to help them finish the season well with ten games left.

“There’s no time to adapt. I think the club now has a goal, and as a striker or as a player, I’ll do everything I can to help. The most important thing is to achieve our objective, and then we’ll see what happens next season,” Adams told Elsevillista.

As it stands, Sevilla are eight points behind a European spot. If they can put up a winning run and the other clubs above them fumble, they can fancy their chances.

Akor Adams has to start shinning immediately he returns to action, as Isaac Romero is ahead of him in the pecking order.

He has to do something similar to what Sadiq Umar is doing at Valencia, as the Super Eagles star has displaced Hugo Duro.

Coach Garcia Pimienta will likely reintroduce Adams slowly, but he will have to grab his opportunity with both hands to become the main man for Los Nervionenses.
