Samuel Chukwueze outranks ex-Chelsea star, Rafa Leao, Ademola Lookman, in Serie A statistic

Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze ranks fifth among Serie A wingers and attacking midfielders with the highest ball-carrying frequency this season, Soccernet.ng reports.

Chukwueze has had a tough campaign with AC Milan as he has struggled to get game time. The 25-year-old winger has registered four goals and one assist in 27 appearances for the Rossoneri this season. Although he has looked good on the eye, his major problem has been his failure to produce big numbers.

Nonetheless, Chukwueze still has some good underlying statistics. According to a recent release by Data MB, a platform that uses data to compare football players and teams, Chukwueze leads the list of wingers and attacking midfielders who have the highest ball carries in the Premier League.

On-loan AC Milan star Riccardo Sottil leads the pack, while Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is second. David Neres and Alessandro Zanoli follow closely, while Chukwueze is ranked fifth.

Dan Ndoye, Gustav Isaksen, Rafael Leao, Mattia Felici and Francisco Coneicao make up the top ten. Then Dennis Man, Benja Dominguez, Pontus Almqvist, Jacopo Fazzini, and Ademola Lookman complete the top 15.

As it stands, Samuel Chukwueze is not a top option for AC Milan coach Sergio Conceicao on the wings. The Super Eagles star is behind Joao Felix, Leao, Yunus Musah, and Christian Pulisic.

Unless one of these players gets injured or loses form, Chukwueze will have trouble becoming a starter. Although he has often shown glimpses of brilliance, consistency has been his issue.

The Super Eagles star will hope that his situation improves soon or he could start looking elsewhere by the end of the season.
